The Crazy Corn Maze

On Saturday we took Carter to his first corn maze, The Crazy Corn Maze, annnnd he hated it. Okay maybe hate is the wrong word. Lets just say he looked really concerned… The whole time. I think it was partly because the maze was next to a haunted maze. It was a called the Haunted Trail, or something like that. It looked pretty scary and there were plenty of screams coming from it (especially when you heard the chainsaw). Carter heard all the screaming and was rightfully disturbed.

There also was the problem of the dark. We waited until it was night to go. Dark means bedtime for baby Carter. He didn’t want to go to bed. He also couldn’t see much, except what the flashlight shined on.

As a result of those things, we ended up with THIS face —> in every picture we took that night! lol

For the most part though we had fun. We got lost for the first thirty minutes (I was in charge of directions). However, in my defense, Daniel had the map, and had mistakenly given it to Baby Carter to hold. Carter feeling ticked due to previously mentioned conditions, discreetly dropped the map when we weren’t looking. We got to one of the numbered posts and went to check the map, but it was gone. So we wandered aimlessly for the next twenty minutes until we stumbled on our map! Even though finding the map proved we had been going in circles, we were elated to finally have some directions back!

After a bit more purposeful wandering, Carter decided he had had enough. So out of the backpack he came and into Mommy’s arms he went. Luckily, at this point Daniel had figured out the map. And its a good thing too, there was no way I was going to be able to carry Baby Carter aimlessly for another 30 minutes. Daniel guided us with ease to the next 5 or 6 posts and safely out of the maze, reaffirming once again that he is in charge of directions, always!

After our hour excursion in the maze, we decided to celebrate with kettle corn! Yummy, delicious, sweet kettle corn! We opted for the big bag, which was waaaay too much for the two of us to eat, but we were hungry! haha Turns out having kettle corn for dinner is a bad idea! We also may or may not have stopped and gotten some soda and fries to eat with it? Nonetheless, I had a terrible tummy ache that night.

All in all it was a good night. I got to spend time with my boys, got lots of exercise, and ate TONS of sweets! haha
